Raw Beltfish
itemRaw Beltfish
Raw beltfish is a Power Level 7 raw ingredient, which means it can be cooked at a campfire, grill, or with Infernal Rod into steamed beltfish. It can be gathered from rod fishing spots with a yew rod in Umbral Sands at level 3 Fishing. Using kalphite bait increases the chance of catching one. It is the normal variant of a pristine beltfish.

The beltfish, or 'largehead hairtail' if you want to get fancy, is no replacement for a real belt. Anglers have been known to break their belts mid-fishing session and will look into their buckets, wondering if the beltfish 'might do'. Yes, I know - there's no helping some people. But if you are tempted, here are the reasons why a beltfish is a sub-par belt. 1. The beltfish is actually a bit of a chonker. It doesn't fit through the loops in your trousers. 2. The smell of a beltfish is riper than your average fish. That ripeness only escalates as the hours go on. 3. Nobody is going to be impressed with your fish-eye belt buckle. 4. An eel is actually a more functional belt.

Raw beltfish is a tricky customer. It's a tough, almost sinewy meat, more like a whip than a food product. If you're a chef and want to torment your sous-chef, then crack a beltfish and watch them pay attention. Equally, if you're a sous-chef and your chef is constantly whipping you with beltfish, then a beltfish makes for a handy garotte.
