Rune Essence Geyser

Not to be confused with Rune Essence (Rock) or Rune Essence.

Rune essence geysers are resource nodes that can be found in multiple regions across Ashenfall. They hold multiple rune essence rocks that lie around them, and have at most three rune essence rocks float above the geysers. The floating rune essence rocks can be shot down by using magic weapon attacks, or a ranged weapon. They can also be harvested by casting Rocksplosion at them, which both the floating rocks and the ones on the ground will take three in-game days to respawn, as long as players do not place anything directly on the node's spawn.

This strange material absorbs magical energy, causing it to defy gravity, among other things. It is best known for the creation of runes: powerful little stones that can be used to cast spells. A pickaxe is needed to harvest the essence. The floating essence rocks can be knocked out of orbit with a little effort, making them easier to mine.
